The Mid Hants Railway between Alresford and Alton, historically important for transporting watercress to London. Powerful locomotives cope with the steep gradients. A night in Bournemouth before journeying through Dorset on the second day to the remarkable, and deservedly popular, Monkey World, which has become a regular destination in our programme.
Durley Dean Hotel 3*
The Durley Dean Hotel is a recently renovated, historic Victorian townhouse hotel situated close to the beaches of Bournemouth, one of the most popular holiday destinations.
It is a 10 minute walk to the centre and beaches or take the local bus from near the hotel. A swimming pool is available to hotel guests. The bedrooms include TV, tea and coffee making facilities and the hotel has a lift.
