Highgate Tour and lunch

We head out to Hampstead where we are booked in for a two course Turkey lunch at a local pub before meeting up with our Blue Badge Guide for a tour of Highgate Cemetery. There are two parts of the Cemetery, East and West and many famous names are at rest here. There are catacombs holding 825 resting places; names you may not know but there are fantastic stories to be heard; there are also well known people including one of the most recent, Alexander Litvinenko-in a special grave! The East holds more modern gravestones - from historians, architects, zoologists and cabaret stars to political activists,even the mastermind of the Great Train Robbery, not forgetting Karl Marx. Promises to be a different day out.
