Tenby & the Pembrokeshire Coast 2022
Traditional seaside holiday in Wales
King Henry I gave Pembrokeshire to Flemish refugees who found a stunning coastline with more than 50 sandy beaches. Tenby has its share, and a variety of holiday activities take place during a long season. There are curiosities too, like Caldey Island with perfume making Cistercian Monks. Plus inland, lush and tranquil countryside when we go to St. Davids.

Day 1 Monday
Over the Severn Bridge to Wales. Arrive in Tenby for 4 nights dinner, bed & breakfast.
DDay 2 Tuesday
At leisure in Tenby
B, DDay 3 Wednesday
Local tour including pretty Saundersfoot and Pembroke. Following the coast beyond Saundersfoot we find Laugharne, home of Dylan Thomas and where he wrote ‘Under Milk Wood’, then Pendine Sands – 7 miles of them – the scene of many land speed record attempts. Back the other way the Norman castle at Pembroke, on the banks of the River Cleddau, is famous for its Great Keep and as the birthplace of Henry VII.
B, DDay 4 Thursday
Our excursion heads west and we take in the harbour village of Solva, Newgale and Britain’s smallest city, St. Davids. The Cathedral, built in a hollow to conceal it from Viking raiders, is a majestic building in a wonderful setting.

Travel home with mountain scenery in the Brecon Beacons this morning.
