Monday
Travel to Yorkshire where we will stay for 4 nights dinner, bed & breakfast at the Cedar Court Hotel, Leeds/Bradford.
Tuesday
To Settle for a train journey on the Settle/Carlisle line (normal diesel service). This stretch includes the famous Ribblesdale viaduct and Dent, the highest mainline station in England. Lunchtime break in Hawes, home of Wallace and Gromit! Then to Aysgarth and Leyburn in Wensleydale for a 40 minute journey on the restored railway to Leeming Bar.
B, DWednesday
First a stop at Bolton Abbey and Priory in Wharfedale. It is a beautiful and tranquil location by the river, surrounded by moorland and woodland in an estate belonging to the Duke of Devonshire. Then stunning Dales scenery on the way to Grassington with its cobbled street, quaint byways and alleyways.
B, DThursday
Along the Aire Valley to Skipton, well known for its market and castle. Continue to Haworth to see the Parsonage, home of the Bronte family, and the other attractions of a village that has hardly changed. On to Keighley for a train ride on the Worth Valley Railway where the steam trains have featured in many films, most memorably ‘The Railway Children’. An altogether fascinating day out.

Nostalgic, leisurely-paced railway journeys form part of each day of this tour. There is something of interest at every turn on this busy itinerary. Railways such as the Worth Valley, Embsay & Bolton Abbey are all restored; the Settle - Carlisle line has the amazing Ribblehead Viaduct. Plus, of course, the scenery viewed from your coach seat.
