Day 1 Sunday

Off we go to Bonnie Scotland, arriving early evening at the Doubletree by Hilton Westerwood Hotel. 4 nights stay – dinner, bed & breakfast.


Day 2 Monday

Today we travel to Falkirk where we will visit Callendar House & Park, a fantastic mansion with a restored 1825 Kitchen for demonstrations and a wide variety of permanent displays. Afterwards, we head to The Helix Park - Home of the Kelpies - the largest equine sculptures in the world; standing at 100ft tall and weighing more than 300 tonnes each. This afternoon, we head to the City of Stirling
where you have time to admire the city and perhaps visit Stirling Castle with its panoramic view towards the Highlands

Day 3 Tuesday

This morning we head for Glasgow Botanic Gardens, located in the heart of the city’s West End. It contains a variety of plant collections, woodland copses and riverside walks as well as the famous Kibble Palace, which houses the nationalcollection of tree ferns. Later on, the rest of the day is yours to explore the City of Glasgow at leisure. It’s a city with striking architecture, contemporary art spaces and fascinating museums, many of which are free; as well as a fantastic shopping destination which gives you plenty to see and do.

Day 4 Wednesday

Drive to Hopetoun House, ‘Scotland’s finest stately home’, to discover a place of beauty, tranquillity and architectural magnificence dating from the 17th century. It is filled with stunning collections and scenic walks. We also enjoy a cream tea here. On to Edinburgh where there will be a fair amount of sightseeing time. There is much to see in the centre from the delightful gardens in Princes Street,
The Royal Mile, the Castle and Holyrood House, or make your way down to Leith to see the Royal Yacht Britannia.

Day 5 Thursday

After breakfast we leave and head for home.

Here’s a formidable list! Glasgow’s Botanic Gardens, Hopetoun House, Callendar House & Park, the Kelpies Sculptures, Edinburgh and Stirling. And all these wonderful attractions, together with Scotland’s principal historic cities, have visits included on this refreshingly different Scottish itinerary. There is also a splendid place to stay on this late spring/early summer holiday north of the border.
