Day 2 Tuesday

Not far north is the market town of Cardigan with an unspoilt townscape and rich heritage. Time for a visit before travelling along the Teifi Valley to the National Wool Museum, part of the Museum of
Wales. It is a working museum and there will be an informative guided tour explaining the story of wool and its importance.

B, D

Day 3 Wednesday

As we follow the road to
Aberystwyth, there are such little coastal gems as Newquay and Aberaeron before we turn into the Cambrian Mountains and climb to Devil’s Bridge. See the Mynach Falls, then join the narrow gauge train for the scenic ride along the Vale of Rheidol to Aberystwyth. This former GWR line was the last BR steam-operated line before becoming privately owned in 1989. Sightseeing time in Aberystwyth, known for its University (attended by the Prince of Wales) and the National Library of Wales, before returning to the hotel.

B, D

Day 4 Thursday

A visit to St Davids and a look at some of the beautiful Pembrokeshire Coast National Park. St Davids, our smallest Cathedral City, is a popular meeting point for pilgrims and artists alike. And don’t miss the magnificent ruins of the medieval Bishops’ Palace.

B, D

Day 5 Friday

After breakfast it will be time to leave for home.

B=Breakfast, D=Dinner

In the far west of Wales is an area of interest and beauty scarcely ever featured by Cooks Coaches. This new tour for 2020 will fill the gap, as it were,

with a well situated hotel and days out on the coach to Aberystwyth and Devil’s Bridge for the Vale of Rheidol Railway and along the Teifi Valley to the unique,

working, National Wool Museum. There will be parts of the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park as well.

FISHGUARD BAY HOTEL  www.whisperhotelscollection.com l In a secluded, cliff-top, positon the hotel looks across the bay to Fishguard, also towards the busy

harbour with its ferries to Ireland etc. Among interesting features in the building are stained glass windows in the restaurant and the en suite bedrooms offer the usual amenities. Free WIFI.
