Drive through the Midlands with refreshment stops as appropriate arriving for 4 nights dinner, bed & breakfast at the Park House Hotel, Blackpool

The hotel is on the North Promenade, so within easy reach of the town's amenities which you can enjoy all day, getting around, no doubt, by tram

A classic Lake District tour takes up the whole day as we go north to Ullswater and get to Keswick for a break. The lake here is Derwentwater, the road beside it leading to Borrowdale and the highest of the mountains, Scafell Pike. Our road, passing Thirlmere, runs beneath the next highest peak, Helvellyn and takes us to Grasmere (short stop), Ambleside and Bowness-on-Windermere, England's largest lake. Many lakeside attractions are here, such as the Beatrix Potter Museum, and a varied collection of shops and craft centres. A cruise on the lake may also be possible.
|
Also on the Fylde Coast, we go to Fleetwood for the remarkably large, and cheap, market. And, completing our sightseeing in this extraordinary holiday area, we take you to see Lytham St Annes.
|
It's goodbye to Blackpool after breakfast, and on the last day of the holiday we will have a lunchtime stop in the Midlands. Arrive home early evening.
