In Tudor times Hever was home to Anne Boleyn whose family added the comfortable manor house within the walls of the earlier castle. It is where Henry VIII courted her. More recently the house has been restored and extended by Lord Astor, and the magnificent gardens include extensive flowerbeds laid out in Tudor fashion.
