D

Day 2 Tuesday

Free day to discover Skegness and
perhaps neighbouring Ingoldmells. A noteworthy event
in the history of holidays is that this is the place where
Sir Billy Butlin first established his famous camps.

B, D

Day 3 Wednesday

Today we have a full day
excursion taking us first to historic Boston with its
famous ‘Stump’ tower and excellent market. Today is
market day and because of the local economy, the
vegetables should be especially good. Afterwards we
head to Coningsby, home of the Battle of Britain Flight,
and on to Woodhall Spa in Lincolnshire’s ‘Antiques Belt’.

B, D

Day 4 Thursday

Today we travel to Mablethorpe, a
glorious sandy beach resort with an excellent selection
of cafes, restaurants and bars and an interesting range
of shops. From here we drive to Louth, a busy town with
a maze of narrow streets and predominantly Georgian
and early Victorian architecture. There are some notable
buildings including 15th century St James Church,
whose 295ft spire dominates the skyline.

B, D

Day 5 Friday

After breakfast we head for home,
enjoying the rural scenes in the Fens and the
opportunity to look round Ely.

B

B=Breakfast, D=Dinner

Skegness offers something for everyone from the beautiful sandy beach to the seal sanctuary and animal centre, museums, shopping and much more, not to mention the landscaped foreshore and colourful gardens. It has long been the favourite resort of many from the East Midlands and

Yorkshire – now it’s time for Essex residents to go there for time in the town and two interesting excursions. Lincolnshire will surprise with its high pastures and steep valleys and enchant with towns of much historic interest.
