4 nights dinner, bed & breakfast. Excursioins

Day 1 Monday

Devon has long been the most
popular holiday county in the land, and it is a pleasant
drive south-westwards to arrive there during the
afternoon of the first day of the holiday. 4 nights dinner,
bed and breakfast plus entertainment at the hotel.

Day 2 Tuesday

The first of our
excursions covers the local area, marketed as the Devon
Riviera: all the same, the resorts have not lost their
individual identities. Look at the contrast between
Brixham’s fishing harbour, Paignton’s sands, Torquay’s
palms and luxuriant vegetation, Babbacombe’s
secluded coves. There will be opportunities to visit some
of the attractions as well – and there are lots of them.
For instance the Model Village and ‘Bygones’ in
Babbacombe. Kent’s Cavern and Torre Abbey in Torquay,
Oldway Mansion and the Zoo in Paignton, plus the
Dartmouth Steam Railway with steam trains offering
great views of Torbay and the estuary of the River Dart
on the way to Kingswear

B, D

Day 3 Wednesday

See the
Devon countryside with its rich red soil as we drive to
Totnes, a very old and very attractive market town on
the River Dart. Then to Dartmouth, the important sailing
centre where the Royal Naval College is located. We
continue, in the district of South Hams (where there are
more holiday homes than anywhere else in the
country), to Slapton Sands and Kingsbridge before

B, D

Day 4 Thursday

We go to Plymouth, a
city with a great naval history stretching back to the
time of Sir Francis Drake. Important sights range from
the Hoe to the Barbican Steps and a very modern
shopping centre. Following our stop in the city we will
drive round the beautiful Tamar Valley as well.

B, D

Day 5 Friday

then leave for home enjoying
the drive through the varied scenery of such counties as
Somerset and Wiltshire

B=Breakfast, D=Dinner

One of Devon’s most popular all year round resorts. Torquay, at its heart, with a lively harbour area and palm-lined promenades: Babbacombe, with spectacular coastal views across Lyme Bay and Torbay from its level cliff top roads: Paignton, with all its attractions on level ground, wide beach and well maintained parks and gardens And see the best of South Devon on the excursions, some of which were changed last year. As they proved popular, they have been retained for 2018.
